2
Thanks for voting!
The first one is a clear winner to me as the 2nd one looks kind of “messy” with the eyelashes crossing the text.
Thanks for the vote and feedback. Let’s see what others will say:)
I could build a stronger brand using the first logo. I think the second one gets me few years back
1 all the way
More together
Then more hypnotic!
I do not like either. They both look like fish…leaves me feeling a bit cold.
If you are going to stay with this look than #1 is the least distasteful…
Ha thanks for the honesty Jim! I think?
A great look, good neutral color choice…
#1 I like to Logo portion, but not the ending D with the small “play button” in it…does not fit with the design…
#2 The font is much more 2.0/futuristic…
I would take the logo from #1 and use the font from #2… I hope you have the .COM domain to go along with the idea!
Best of luck with the venture!
Interesting…thanks Ray.
1. Definitely more hypnotic. Was drawn to it straight away
Number one! It’s cleaner. More hypnotic. Modern and less cluttered.
I like 1… image is more in-line with the text so the eyes flow across the logo easier, plus the “D” has the play symbol embedded so it’s clear that it’s a video site.
I would vote for number 2. It seems to stand out when compared to #1
I like # 1 as it is easier on the eyes.
Logo #1 for me. thanks
2nd DEFINITELY for me – better font, the recognition of media is instant and the eye links to the hypno. The only thing that seems odd to me is the black line wrapping round the pupil, think it would be better staying parallel to the blue line, maybe with the thin end just touching the blue line at the end. It looks out of balance to me as is, my 2c.
Hey Troy – To be honest I never even noticed that line, but I’m glad you mentioned it. We might have the designer change that to see how it looks. Thanks!
I like number 1
# 1 MORE HYPNOTIC
No 2. Saw some say it’s old fashioned but second one drew my eye more immediately, is more ‘hypnotic’ in traditional sense when they used to hypnotize on stage, draws me in more, and color use cooler in second one, find it more stylish. But that’s just me:-) Good luck, have loads of fun.
i like 2 – it’s stunning
I favor Vid 1, but take the play button out of the D and shift it over to the left and put it into the eye as in Vid 2
I also like the font in Vid 1 better as it is cleaner and easier to read.
first is my favorite because its cleaner and for more target groups
Thanks Jessica, alot of people have said it looks a bit cleaner so you’re not alone.
I think #1 is much better than #2. It’s much cleaner and gets the point across quickly. The second one is too cluttered with the play button inside the pupil, the patterns in the iris, and the black eyelashes curling around the iris and over the text.
Charles put it nicely above – when I look at the first one my eye flows across the whole logo easily, and I like the play button in the D at the end (much cleaner than it is in #2). When I look at the second one I get stuck on the eye and don’t read the text.
Hi Priscilla – Thanks for the detailed feedback! Really appreciate it.
Has to be number 1 the key to a good logo is clarity – I would be happy to offer a British accent to any voice over you need – plus I would love to talk with you about how we could offer your video services to our clients.
Hey Paul! I think we’re OK in British accent for now, but thanks for the offer. Send us an email over to support[at]hypnovid.com and we can discuss helping you with delivering to clients
Bill
2 is the better choice but I think the eye needs to be moved away from “H” and make the “H” stand on its own. At the moment the “H” looks like II.
I’ll vote for the first one. I think it’s better and more convincing.
When I first look, #2 is the most interesting. But as I look at them more, I prefer #1. I don’t like that the bottom line of the eye goes through the H
1
it hi-lites “hypno” the main and new twist and
has the play icon far-right which make it look more like a call-to-action
They’re both nice, but I like 2 better. I like the play on the eye and the way it forms the H. It “pops” more too.
I vote for number 2 by far!
Take a look at this restaurant’s logo:
http://www.eggrollking.com/
You’ll notice that the clever use of chopsticks for the two l’s actually distorts the word and makes it harder to understand what the restaurant is about.
That’s why I don’t like #1 and I vote for #2. The use of the ‘play’ button/triangle in #1 distorts your meaning. Is ‘hypnovid’ a videoplayer? is it a plugin?
Of course, neither of the logos convey the message of custom whiteboard creation. I would prefer to see a whiteboard with a handwritten “Hypnovid” and the artist’s hand holding a marker. That conveys the logo and the meaning in one image.
Two cents … you may have other reasons for your choices, and this is a complete outsider’s perspective.
DonO
Thanks Don! We did have some designs with exactly what you suggested actually, with the handwritten font and an artist’s hand. We thought the same as you, that it would convey the meaning of the website more. We just didn’t like the way they came out.
I think really we just wanted something more memorable and “brandable” as opposed to trying to convey what the website does with the logo. If you look at alot of logos of popular websites, you can rarely figure out what the site does just by looking at it.
Thanks again for your feedback
Good idea about the contest….. very smart. Speaking as someone with 17 years branding experience go for number 1.
1. Clarity
2. Symmetry
3. Play on the name (the eye and the vid button in the d at the end) .
Also create several mini niches series
i.e.
Hynovid (use your #1 logo)
For the Hip Mommie Blogger
Hynovid (use your #1 logo)
For NON Tech businesses person
Hynovid (use your #1 logo)
For Legal Eagles
And be sure to have a different expressive font with each one.
Thanks Darren, really appreciate the feedback. I think what you said makes alot of sense.
I prefer the #2. The icon at the beginning ties the logo into the media player.
#1 stays with the theme if the product, where on the other hand #2 looks more corporate.
My Vote would be #2
My first impression was that I liked #2 better, then I started to gravitate to #1, but now I’m back to #2 again.
My eyes just naturally focus on the “Hypno” in #2, maybe because of the black lettering. Also, I don’t like the play button in the D in #1.
And finally, I think you can make sense of the “eye” logo much better in #2 than in #1. If I saw that logo from #2 I would immediately think that it had something to do with media… but if I saw the eye logo from #1 I wouldn’t have a clue what it was about.
Something similar happened to me Norm. I haven’t revealed to anyone which one I like yet…but I liked #1 at first but then switched over and now #2 is the one I want to go with. I agree with you about the eye too. Thanks for your feedback!
Bill
#1 is the Winner! The Eye with the spiral circle that Screams Hypnotic does not have me guessing and is very memorable!
Hope I win too!
-Robert Montoya
I Go With #2
I like #1 … I get #2 but the eye just doesn’t look right to me.
Bill,
Number 1 is more memorable with the hypnotic spiral at the start.
Number 2 is more web 2.0 I feel, so it gets my vote.
Personally may I suggest that your logo look “hand drawn” or at least part of it (possibly the text). That will tie in with your actual product much better.
Darren
Hey Darren – Thanks for your feedback. A few people in the comments actually mentioned trying the “hand drawn” look as well, and we did get a couple with that type of font but it just didn’t turn out the way we wanted. There was one that was close to making the final vote and it had the “hand drawn” look on the VID part of the logo. But in the end we decided on these two.
Bill
Hi Bill,
I feel #1 is the better of the two; except for the play button on the last letter. It’s “cute” but actually disracts abit.
Thanx 4 letting us have some input. You really know how to tap into the physcological urges of your customers…lol!
